Since the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative (the Belt and Road Initiative) was proposed, the Silk Road Fund, established by China with the commitment of USD40 billion, was officially put into operation at the end of 2014. In line with the principles of market orientation, meeting international standards and professional excellence, the Fund has conducted active explorations and practices while galvanizing all kinds of capital to participate in and support the development of the Belt and Road project over the past more than two years. Recently, Mr. Yang Zejun, Chairman of the Fund’s Board of Supervisors, received our exclusive interview.

What has the Silk Road Fund, an investment platform established by China to support the development of the Belt and Road project, done to advance the Belt and Road Initiative?

楊澤軍：“一帶一路”倡議的提出，不僅對我國全面深化改革、拓展全方位對外開放新格局具有重要意義，更是順應(yīng)了生產(chǎn)力發(fā)展的需要和全球化大趨勢，體現(xiàn)了國際社會的共同意愿，為世界各國開展互利合作，實(shí)現(xiàn)更加開放、更可持續(xù)的發(fā)展催生了新動力。

Yang Zejun: The release of the Belt and Road Initiative is not only significant for China to deepen reform on all fronts and expand the new landscape of opening-up in all directions, but also conforms to the development need of productivity and the larger trend of globalization. In addition, it points to the common will of the international community, injecting new vigor and vitality for all countries to engage in mutually beneficial cooperation and realize more open and sustainable development.
