Founded in 1996, the Center for Environmental Education and Communications of Ministry of Ecology and Environment (formerly the Center for Environmental Education and Communications of Ministry of Environmental Protection, hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) is a public institution directly affiliated to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. It undertakes the technical support work for communications and education of eco-environment protection and daily management and training of the Party School of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. The Center for Education and Communications is a public-welfare public institution (second category) and consists of five offices - the Administration Office (the Editorial Department of the magazine titled World Environment),Social Publicity Office (Management Office of the Education and Communications Base), Education Office, Training Office and New Media Office (Research Institute of Public Relations and Strategic Communication of Eco-environment).

The Center undertakes the activities relevant to major environmental days and nation-wide social publicity of eco-environment protection, the work of opening eco-environment protection facilities and eco-environment education bases to the public, and planning and preparation of publicity materials one co-environment protection of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
承擔(dān)生態(tài)環(huán)境教育理論研究和內(nèi)容設(shè)計，為有關(guān)部委和地方開展“綠色學(xué)校”創(chuàng)建提供技術(shù)支持，創(chuàng)建和推廣自然教育，承擔(dān)線上生態(tài)環(huán)境學(xué)習(xí)課程及音像、海報等大眾生態(tài)環(huán)境教育產(chǎn)品策劃制作工作。
The Center undertakes the theoretical research and content design of eco-environment education, provision of technical support for setting up “green schools” to related ministries and commissions and local governments, and creation and promotion of nature education. What’s more, it is responsible for planning and producing online eco-environment courses, audios and videos, posters and other public eco-environment education products.
承擔(dān)生態(tài)環(huán)境系統(tǒng)干部培訓(xùn)和發(fā)展中國家生態(tài)環(huán)境保護(hù)專業(yè)人員援外培訓(xùn);負(fù)責(zé)部黨校日常管理，承辦部黨校各類培訓(xùn)班。
The Center undertakes the training of cadres within the eco-environment system and training of professionals in eco-environment protection in aid for other developing countries; it is responsible for daily management of the Party School of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and arrangement of various training classes of the Party School.
構(gòu)建包括環(huán)保社會組織在內(nèi)的生態(tài)環(huán)保公眾參與和交流互動平臺，開展生態(tài)環(huán)境公共關(guān)系與戰(zhàn)略傳播研究，承擔(dān)生態(tài)環(huán)境社會風(fēng)險輿情收集、研判、報送和應(yīng)對技術(shù)支持工作以及政務(wù)新媒體編輯運行工作。編輯出版《世界環(huán)境》雜志。
The Center undertakes the construction of the public participation, communication and interaction platform for eco-environment protection including social environmental protection organizations, implementation of researches on public relations and strategic communications regarding eco-environment, collection, studying and judging, and report and submission of public opinions on social risks related to eco-environment, and the editing and operation of new media for government affairs. Meanwhile, the Center is responsible for editing and publishing the magazine titled World Environment.
